- Do you know why none of the college graduates receive direct job offers? Most graduates lack the ability to perform in job roles because they do not possess the knowledge or skill sets that employers require. They simply do not have the practical skills or expertise that employers are looking for.
- You can imagine a person with 20 years of formal education—from LKG to postgraduate studies—still begging for job because they were never taught to do anything his own.
- 90% of degree and even professional course syllabi are outdated and not aligned with current industry standards, with some having remained unchanged for over 25 years. While technology continues to advance rapidly—for example artificial intelligence, is doubling its capabilities every three months—our colleges are only just introducing Python, a programming language that was created over 35 years ago. Unfortunately, the person who decides the syllabus and the one who teaches have no real industry experience. As a result, they continue to produce graduates who are capable of becoming professors themselves but lack the practical knowledge and skills demanded by employers.
- In our education system, we are often taught history written by kings and paid historians, which does not necessarily reflect the true history. We spend years learning English grammar and poetry that we rarely use in real life, yet we are hardly ever taught spoken English, a skill that is essential in daily life and professional growth. Similarly, students are taught complex mathematical formulas such as trigonometry, integration, and differentiation, but are never guided on practical applications like calculating EMIs to negotiate better deals on car or home loans. We study concepts such as the caloric value of fuels and thermodynamics, but we are never educated about the calorific value of food, which is crucial for maintaining a healthy diet and lifestyle. We learn formulas related to speed and distance, yet we are never taught about maintaining safe following distances while driving on the car. In short, our schools and colleges rarely teach skills that are directly useful for our careers or everyday lives.
- We lose the best 20 productive years of our life learning things that are irrelevant to us. this is why academic certificates contribute only a small fraction—perhaps 5%—to a person’s real success in life. Understanding this harsh reality, we have taken the initiative to provide you with the missing knowledge and skills which you need to have, to get a career and succeed in life.
Insights from Our Expert
- After working for more than 30 years with multinational companies across diversified industries, one thing I have realized is that universities worldwide are primarily designed to produce another generation of teachers and professors. Ninety percent of the subjects are either outdated or completely disconnected from industry needs, and they never train us in the practical application of principles and formulas in real-life scenarios.
- Early in my life, I realized the value of hard skills and made it a habit to keep learning and improving them. This steady effort helped me advance in my career, earn a seven-digit salary, and retire at just 45 years old—even without a college degree and with very limited soft skills. What I didn’t realize back then was the importance of soft skills. Had I developed them too, I could have climbed to even higher positions with greater salaries. That’s why I now encourage students to strengthen both hard and soft skills to achieve their full potential.
- Over the years, I have guided more than 100 individuals in their career journeys by sharing practical knowledge and actionable steps. Though not part of a formal program, most of this work was done as community service or peer support through personalized, one-on-one consultations to help each person design their career path.
- I believe in practicing what I preach. A good example is my son, whom I enrolled in online learning after his 10th grade. By the time he completed his 12th, he had scored above 90% in every subject without attending single day in school or tution class and learned multiple coding languages, and built several small projects. Unlike many of his peers—who waited until after B.Tech or BCA to start coding—he has already secured a placement at a Cyberpark company.
- Similarly, my elder daughter pursued a degree in Data Science from a British university, mainly due to societal expectations and pressure from grandparents—most of whom come from a teaching background—and simply for the sake of holding a degree. However, despite her formal qualification, she struggled to secure a job in her field. In the end, it was the practical skills and knowledge she gained through projects she worked on at home during the COVID-19 lockdown that helped her land a high-paying job.
